Dig this: a homeless kid takes paint borrowed from friends and goes to
the zoo. While there, he paints crude pictures of animals and sells
them for a small fee to curious zoo-goers. He's thrown out by zoo
authorities for taking money away from the gift shop, but not before
being seen by Matthew Bennett, then co-director of the Zinc gallery.
